Custom Coils has experience and expertise in winding both antenna and self-support air coils. With our in-house tooling capabilities, we can wind custom-shaped and sized antenna coils. We have designed and manufactured round coils up to 2ft in diameter and rectangular coils up to 2.5ft x 3ft in size.

We use a bondable wire to wind these coils that feature a chemically activated adhesive agent that turns the wound wires into a single bonded unit. These bonded coils are often a better alternative to a bobbin-wound coil in certain applications.

Solenoid Design

Custom Coils also takes pride in its ability to wind coils to meet the precise mechanical requirements of your solenoid design. In the absence of an exact arbor or mandrel to obtain the desired size and shape, we can quickly create the tooling in-house. These coils can be as simple as a single-layer coil wound with 6 turns of 12GA wire up to a multi-layer coil wound with 65K turns of a 36GA wire.

Custom Coils takes pride in the fact that we test 100% of our antenna coils. Custom Coils uses several Voltech 3600 to do all testing required. Custom design test suites are developed based on the customer's requirements and expectations. The Voltech 3600 gives Custom Coils the flexibility to measure inductance, resistance, and leakage. We use all these types of tests for our outgoing tests, random sampling, and TQM initiatives.
